Public Invited to View Clean-Energy Electric Vehicle Charging System Near the Wisconsin State Capitol in Madison

Madison, Wis. – To demonstrate the importance of expanding the use of clean, renewable energy, RENEW Wisconsin, a nonprofit organization dedicated to building a stronger, healthier, more vibrant Wisconsin through the advancement of renewable energy, and EnTech Solutions, a full-service clean energy solutions provider, will be hosting Renewable Energy Day and demonstrating a clean electric vehicle (EV) charging solution near the state capitol on Wednesday, October 13.

An EnTech Solutions’ clean energy EV charging station powered by an Xcape™ microgrid will be set up on Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. Energy experts from EnTech Solutions and representatives from RENEW Wisconsin will be on hand to answer questions about clean EV charging and the importance of this technology for our environment and the state of Wisconsin.

“EnTech’s solar-powered EV station showcases how renewable energy sources can provide a clean source of energy to charge electric vehicles,” said Jeremy Orr, Emerging Technology Program Manager at RENEW Wisconsin. “These types of systems are a game changer for clean energy technology and will provide much needed infrastructure support for some of our more rural areas.”

EnTech Solutions has developed and installed clean EV charging stations throughout the region, including at Bubolz Nature Preserve in Appleton, Bergstrom Automotive in Neenah, Green Bay Austin Straubel International Airport and Road America in Elkhart Lake. Utilizing an Xcape microgrid solution, the EV chargers are powered by solar arrays with support from the electric grid or natural gas generators if needed. The systems can be developed and installed quickly and monitored remotely to ensure optimum use of energy resources.

Electric vehicle sales are expected to reach nearly 30% of new vehicle sales by 2030, as the focus on clean energy continues to grow. “These electric vehicle charging systems support the need for more renewable energy options for the growing EV market,” said Scott Romenesko, EnTech Solutions President. “These systems provide benefits to businesses and organizations who provide this technology for their visitors or team members, while supporting their environmental goals and helping to control their energy costs,” he noted.
