Award Recognizes EnTech’s Work at Middleton Digester Facility
Madison, Wis. – EnTech Solutions, a full-service clean energy solutions provider, received the Climate Champion Award from the Dane County Office of Energy and Climate Change. This award recognizes companies who are taking actionable and innovative steps towards climate success in Dane County, Wisconsin.
EnTech Solutions received the award for its work to transform agricultural waste from local dairy farms into renewable energy at its Middleton Digester facility. The renewable natural gas (RNG) made at the site is used in the transportation sector on the West Coast to provide clean-burning vehicle fuel and offset greenhouse gas emissions from traditional fossil fuels. Renewable natural gas is made from agricultural waste and can reduce greenhouse gas emissions up to 400 percent when used to replace traditional fossil fuels.
“The Middleton Digester project highlights how we can solve environmental and economic challenges within the agriculture and transportation industries by repurposing methane gas from organic cow waste into clean, renewable vehicle fuel,” explained Paul Kane, EnTech Solutions vice president of sustainable fuels. “The Dane County community has been wonderful to work with and we greatly appreciate the recognition in our efforts to combat climate change.”
EnTech Solutions was recognized at a special event on Saturday, Dec. 4 at Forest Edge Elementary School in Oregon, Wisconsin. EnTech Solutions was one of 46 companies receiving a Climate Champion award in various categories.
The facility in Middleton also integrated 2.8 MW of solar and distributed energy technology to produce clean energy for use at the facility. The Middleton facility is a partnership between EnTech Solutions and Northern Biogas LLC.
